The first version of Flinkertionary is now online. The project is an experimental dictionary and language platform combining vocabulary, linguistic information, usage, and semantic exploration.
The dictionary backend is currently being developed around a dedicated SQLite database. External lexical sources such as Oxford, WordNet, and Cambridge are treated as source material rather than as the public website data store.
The game features a dedicated poker interface and server-managed gameplay. This release marks the first step in the website's ever-expanding collection of interactive online games: da first game. We hope it brings users plenty of fun and a few poker skills, just as developing it did for us.
